#50 - Heaven
Taloned feet crunched on the snow to his left, and Uriel looked up, all thoughts of the cold forgotten. A squat demon was picking its way carefully between potholes in the road. It stopped in front of him and coughed, politely covering its mouth with one fin.
"Good evening," it said...
Flash fiction, in which a newly-fallen angel finds out that, maybe, it's not all that bad after all. Based on a piece I wrote in 2011, this is an irreverent look at the afterlife - something a little more fun and colourful after a few weeks of more serious work.
