The door creaked open, and he stepped into the hallway, nose wrinkling. “Cabbage for dinner?”
“You missed out, man. It was awesome,” Bink said, shutting the door quickly. “Barbara had a tantrum ‘cause she didn’t take her meds and threw up over the serving hatch.”
“I guess that is more awesome than a terrorist attack. I didn’t get the job, by the way.” He shrugged. “I mean-“
Mother Chén’s strident voice from the stairs cut him off. “Alexander!”
The Dimlands, home to the criminal element of London, and unlikely site of Mother Chén's Orphanage. As Alex returns home jobless, he faces the matriarch's wrath. But change is on the horizon in Alex's life...
