#42 - Empathy

Mr Johnson leaned back in his chair, and that was the moment I knew I’d got the job. “So, do you think you would enjoy working here?”

I nodded. “Sure. I’m really excited to be a part of Mugtome. Everyone I’ve met today seems really nice, so... yes. I think I’d enjoy working here...”

The social media of tomorrow might use your emotions to make the experience more immersive. Imagine looking at a photo on Facebook and receiving an emotion, prepackaged, as part of the deal. But what if this technology could be used for more nefarious means, to inflict emotion on the unwary...?

Inspired by this article on Wired.co.uk (as a lot of my stories are!) I bring you Empathy, the story of someone tasked with being on the cutting edge of this technology.

As always, I would love to collaborate with you! If you have short fiction that you would like me to include as a standalone episode of Pocket Fiction, drop me a line!

Each track is also available as a video on YouTube and as a podcast through the iTunes store.

Thanks for listening! Ideas? Suggestions? Things you would like me to read? Please comment and subscribe!
