#11 - Poisonroot Chapter 6

Trip watched him go, suddenly transported into one of the stories he had read for years. It was more than that, though; grittier and real, not like the fantasy he had always imagined. Victor was grim-faced as he emerged from the house and resheathed his sword. 

“What was in there?” Trip asked.

“Dead bodies. All of ‘em, dead.”

A chapter of Poisonroot, a fantasy novel. In the wake of the discovery at the farmhouse, Victor and Trip travel to Deep Round. But the village is in disrepair, and the locals are all injured. What could be the cause?
