#53 - Depth

“You are way too calm about this, Jenick,” I said, keeping pace.

“And you’re way too into my business, Ken.” He gave a one-shouldered shrug. “It’s not worth all this.”

“That’s not the signal we got,” I said. “Morgan said-”

“Yeah, well, Morgan was wrong.”

A standalone short story that originally featured on this site as 'It Broke', a response to a competition theme. Ken, a salvage diver, is deeply suspicious of his coworker Jenick's response to a brush with death - enough to perform his own risky dive in search of the truth.

I'm trying different things with the sounds of these podcasts; I'm aware this one has a small amount of hiss in it, and I can't work out where it's coming from. Something to work on next week, as the paid work I'm doing at the moment sadly doesn't leave me much time for writing or making podcasts!

As always, I would love to collaborate with you! If you have short fiction that you would like me to include as a standalone episode of Pocket Fiction, drop me a line!

Each track is also available as a podcast through the iTunes store.

Thanks for listening! Ideas? Suggestions? Things you would like me to read? Please comment and subscribe!
